Dubbed the StarCraft II Gameboard, the application lets you remotely control your game and includes mini-map control, detailed unit statistics, and access to the game's important hotkeys and macros. Developer Daniel Hellerman has let us know about an interesting little project he's working on: an app that promises to let you control Starcraft II from your iPhone (or iPad).

I like this idea a lot -- developer Daniel Hellerman is working on an app for the App Store that will interface with a Windows client to control Blizzard's StarCraft 2 real-time strategy game. The RTS Gameboard for StarCraft 2 is an app, downloadable starting in September on the App Store (assuming it's approved by Apple), that will purportedly let you control your units and buildings through the iPad and iPhone's touchscreen interface. Cinefy is a new mobile video editing app that promises "Hollywood effects"​ on the iPhone. Launched in limited beta on Tuesday, Cinefy's app includes features for inserting footage, adding music from a built-in library and applying a variety of special visual effects.

"We took a look at the competition and tried to figure out where they went wrong … Other apps were charging users $1 for just one or two effects, we wanted to change that. So, for the week of Thanksgiving, we are offering users over 100 special effects to use in their videos, completely free. Don’t get too excited by that headline – Blizzard hasn’t suddenly sprung an iOS version of Starcraft 2 on us without warning.

Instead, developer Daniel Hellerman has been working on a way of alleviating the pain of learning all the hotkeys and shortcuts through a new ‘Gameboard’ app due to hit the App Store next month.
